Statement of Faith

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES

We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God in the orginal text.

THE HOLY TRINITY

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST

We believe that Jesus Christ remained a perfect sinless man, yet retained his absolute deity, being at the same time God and man; He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; and He died on the cross as the only acceptable sacrifice for our sins. We believe in His resurrection, in His ascension into Heaven and in His personal return in power and glory.

MAN, THE FALL, AND SALVATION

We believe that Man was created in the image of God, male and female, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and spiritually dead apart from God. Man can only be reunited with God and made spiritually alive again through the work of the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit is a spiritual rebirth, an inner renewal of the heart, and is God’s free gift to all who choose to receive it. It is only through this renewal that salvation and spiritual life can be obtained.

THE RESURRECTION

We believe in the resurrection of both the spiritually dead and the spiritually alive; they, who are alive spiritually, are saved to eternal blessedness and joy with the Lord and they, who are dead spiritually, are lost to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment.

THE CHURCH

We believe that the true Church is composed of all such persons, who, through saving faith in Jesus Christ, are spiritually alive by the work of the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ, of which Jesus is the Head.
